Pablo Sandoval made a routine play today against the White Sox in Scottsdale Stadium and that was just great — yes, I arrived in Arizona today. A guy laid down a bunt along the third base line, bunted for a base hit. Sandoval ran toward the ball, as he should, barehanded it and made a perfect throw to first. All third basemen need to make this play. So why am I praising the Panda? Because last year when he was a fatty he could not make that play. And that’s one reason he got yanked as a starter. So fielding the bunt was a good sign, very good.
