Still waiting for Bonds to appear. Have this random thought.

Several years ago I wrote a spring training column about Bonds who I believed was a chemical athlete. I referred to him in the column only as It. My point — he had become a thing. It was unkind but I believe accurate.

When I look at him now he looks like a human being, no longer an It.
