Grant here.

Everyone else on the Zohn has listed their all-time favorite movies but me, and I feel left out.

So here’s my list, in order.

  1. Goodfellas
  2. Godfather 1&2
  3. Reservoir Dogs
  4. Pulp Fiction
  5. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  6. Miller’s Crossing
  7. Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai
  8. Sexy Beast
  9. True Romance
  10. Supercar Showdown

The Godfathers were always my favorite movies growing up. I liked the idea of a high-art mob movie. But after I  spent years reading high art at UCLA, Goodfellas appeals more to me now. I like how the main characters are at the bottom of the mob, as opposed to the Godfather where the main characters are mob demi-gods.

I also have come to enjoy Reservoir Dogs more than Pulp Fiction. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen Pulp Fiction dozens of times. I think Reservoir Dogs is a more focused story. And the scene where Tim Roth tells his made-up story to gain trust in the mob is one of my favorite scenes in movie history.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off might be the movie I’ve watched the most times in my life. I had a video tape of it as a little kid and I used to watch the movie almost every day. I’ll never get tired of it.

Ghost Dog is a Cohn Zohn favorite. My dad saw it in theatres a dozen years ago and we still feel like we’re the only fans of the movie.

Supercar Showdown was another video I watched every day when I was little. It’s about a Ferrari, a Porsche, and Lamborghini. I highly recommend it. It’s the Goodfellas of promotional car movies.
