A’s pitcher Tyson Ross, 23, closed out the Tigers in the ninth inning today. He wasn’t eligible for a save because the score was 5-1 but he ended the game and in the process struck out Miguel Cabrera, just blew him away. The A’s see him as a top-notch starter on the big club in the future. He is a real talent and the interesting thing for me is he grew up in the Oakland Hills near me and has known my kid Iggy since they were seven and later on they both went to Bishop O’Dowd High in Oakland. After the game I sat down and talked with Tyson and wrote my column about him. To read it click here.
