I’m back on the beam today after taking Tuesday off. (Note to self: Find out what back on the beam really means.)

I read the sports pages this morning and there’s lots of talk of rumors of the Warriors trading Monta Ellis for Andre Iguodala of the 76ers, or for a player like Iguodala.

Yes, I say. Yes.

Ellis plays hard and scores like nobody’s business but he can’t defend big 2 guards. Combine him with Stephen Curry and the Warriors have a shrimp defense that can’t defend. (Note to self: Find out what like nobody’s business really means.)

The Warriors brought in Mike Malone, supposedly a defensive whiz. That implies they will stress D. So get Iguodala or an Iguodala-like player — a big swingman — and get rid of Ellis who does not stress D. Keep Curry because he is a point guard.

The Warriors need to make serious changes so they become a real team instead of a novelty act.

Question: Can the Warriors get rid of Ellis and his contract? There’s the rub. (Note to self: Find out what there’s the rub really means.)
