This is Grant addressing my dad directly.

Dad, what’s for dinner?

One more thing. You’re wrong about Monta Ellis. He isn’t the guard Larry Riley should trade, that’s Curry.

Ellis is already a better player than Curry will ever be. Curry’s a shooting guard who isn’t big or quick enough to guard any position on the court. Ellis is an elite athlete who can be an excellent offensive and defensive player in his prime, which should start this coming season.

Riley should trade Curry to the Minnesota Timberwolves for the second pick in the draft and take Derrick Williams, the 6’9” 250 lb. combo-forward from Arizona.

Then Riley should draft Jimmer Fredette with the no. 11 pick to replace Curry.

Fredette/Ellis/Williams/Lee/Udoh is a playoff team next season.

In the summer of 2012 Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum will be unrestricted free agents. If I’m Joe Lacob I hired Jerry West to help sign one of those two players.

And that is the rub.
