I went wine tasting while I was in Kelowna, BC. It turns out Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley are BC’s wine country. I went into the tastings feeling snobby about California wines but the BC stuff was very good. Not great. But very good. I’m told it used to be junk but has made big strides recently. There are more than 100 wineries so you could spend a lot of time tasting up there. Our hotel room was right on Lake Okanagan. Very beautiful. And here’s the thing — until we got invited to this wedding I’d never heard of Kelowna or the Okanagan Valley.
