I took Mrs. Cohn Zohn and Grant to the flicks this afternoon. We went to see “Hugo” because the Academy Awards are tonight and I wanted to be knowledgeable on a few films nominated for best picture. I have seen “The Artist” and “Midnight in Paris” and love them but I haven’t seen the others. I won’t see “Moneyball” on principle.

Anyway, “Hugo” sucks. Do not see it. It is sappy, stupid, sentimental, poorly acted and poorly written. It is the worst movie Martin Scorsese ever directed, although “Gangs of New York” is another stinker.

I can’t believe “Hugo” got nominated for best picture. What does it mean that it got nominated?
