I don’t know Jonny Gomes very well. I met him the other day for the first time. It was a pleasant first meeting in the Oakland A’s clubhouse. Gomes talked about him and the 707 area code and Petaluma and how he’s still pretty much the same guy who grew up in Sonoma County and attended Case Grande High School and played baseball for coach Bob Leslie, now deceased.
