The 49ers signed first-round draft pick A.J. Jenkins to a four-year deal. I’ve met Jenkins and he seems like a nice guy. I am not convinced he is ready to be a big contributor next season — he did not sparkle in minicamp, from what I read (I was covering the US Open). On the other hand, the Niners are now loaded at wide receiver so maybe they can afford to give him a learning year.
