I attended the Giants game today and participated in an interview with Brian Wilson, and an interview with Bruce Bochy about Brian Wilson, and I got the story of how and when Wilson injured himself and what it means for the future and where Wilson stands now. I wrote all this in my Monday column. I wish Wilson all the best as he faces probable Tommy John surgery and lengthy rehabilitation. He hopes to pitch again next season. I wish the man well in his rehab, but to be honest, it will be nice not having to watch the local media fawn over his forced “zaniness.”

Here is hoping for a good recovery. It sounds like that like Rob Nen before him, he went all out to help the Giants win a World Series, the only difference is that they closed the deal this last time. It also explains some of his issues last season. And if you can throw 95 after something pops, then if he can heal, sounds like things will be relatively ok when all is said and done. Thanks B-Weezy for all you have done and heal well.

    Good Column…

Very nice touch with the McFly family photo…

As brutal as it is…sooner or later we all just fade away like Crispin Glover and Lea Thompson…

perfect image at the end. Sad story. Seems an interesting guy. Work them phones Sabean. I think we’ll need another arm at some point, perhaps the second half of the season.

I know some -like Radnich- don’t think Wilson is funny. In that situation its the pot, etc.
What I think is..the beard and persona is of a guy very self aware of his high station in life. The fame, big money and youth and health. He also knows its temporary, and he’s milking it for all he can..like those adrenaline junkies, only Wilson gets a rush with being seen with that ‘Haystack Calhoun,Ma and Pa Kettle’ beard. Or if you’ve seen that weird movie ‘Septien’..a character in it has that same beard, hoodie and Amber vision glasses. Maybe Ted “unibomber”Kuzinski too…that’s Wilson version of jumping off a cliff wearing a flying squirrel outfit.
I think its a case of a guy who some like Radnich see as having a huge ego,but really he doesn’t. Its healthy sized sure..but he’s live for the day,and treat others as you want them to treat you..
Your all gonna miss that guy if this is it.
