I made mention of Jose Canseco in my Singletary blog this morning, used Canseco as an example of someone I would not want in my house along with B. Bonds. No reader defended Bonds or indicated a desire to have him in his/her house but many of you defended Canseco. Why?

We know he was a drug fiend. We know he is a snitch to his fellow ballplayers and is proud of it. My guess is he is not welcome in any clubhouse in America. In addition, I found him to be rude — not like Bonds, though — and self-centered to the max. Please tell me, what redeems this man?

Hey, I did my time with him and Bonds and don’t want to be around them again. Singletary I believe is a fundamentally decent person. Do you dispute that? Where’s your evidence to the contrary?
