The Giants needed a superb pitching effort to defeat the Phillies on Sunday after losing the first three games of the series. Tim Lincecum gave them superb. And how. He is the undisputed ace of a terrific pitching staff, and he stopped the Philadelphia hitters and frustrated them before getting relieved in the eighth inning. Last August he wasn’t so good, but on this August day, he was indeed superb. I wrote my Monday column about him and to read it click here.
