According to a soon-to-be-released book, Sarah Palin had a one-night-stand with former basketball player Glen Rice. FYI, Rice confirmed this item.

It is generally not the province of this blog to write about political figures or sex or both. But I am making an exception in this special case.

When the tryst occurred Palin was a sports reporter for a TV station and Rice was a college player. It is a no-no for a reporter to have a sexual involvement with an athlete — a clear conflict of interest and loss of professionalism. Apparently, Palin is guilty on both counts.

This does not mean Palin has low morals now. It means she had a moral lapse then. And be clear about this. She could have slept with anyone she wanted. Strictly her business. But not with someone she was covering. No way.
