On Friday night, Tim Lincecum was awful in his first two innings — he certainly didn’t look like someone who is usually considered one of baseball’s top pitchers. After that, he looked much better. So, here is my question: Is Lincecum going through a temporary problem — perhaps mechanics — or has he permanently lost his status as an elite pitcher?

I say it’s temporary, but I am in no position to know. Your thoughts?
